Marvel’s Black Panther movie a duel between Highly Educated Brutha’s


Marvel Studios much anticipated Black Panther movie – is set to be released February 15, 2018.  Chadwick Boseman reprises his role as T’Challa (Black Panther), Chadwick had a cameo appearance in Captain America: Civil War and Black Panther’s longtime foe Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) makes his debut on the silver screen.

Erik Killmonger was created by writer Don McGregor and artist Rich Buckler and made his debut in 1973’s Jungle Action #6. Early stories established Killmonger as a Wakandan native (originally named N’Jadaka) whose father was forced to help Ulysses Klaw invade Wakanda and steal its valuable vibranium. After Klaw was defeated and N’Jadaka’s father was killed, he and his family were exiled to America.



Interestingly, The Comic Book biographies of Black Panther and Erik Killmonger reveal they are both highly educated bruthas’.


Black Panther obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Oxford University.  In addition, the Marvel Wikia lists T’Challa with advanced degrees in Engineering, Economics, Political Science & Psychology.

Erik Killmonger received a Ph.D in Engineering and MBA from M.I.T.

Elaborate Viewing Parties for the movie are sprouting up all across the nation.  Further, the movie is currently tracking to finish with a $100-120 Million Dollar opening weekend.

The Cast is a very diverse group of actresses and actors from across the Globe. In addition to Boseman and Jordan, the movie casts Lupita Nyong’o, Star of ’12 Years a Slave’, Danai Gurira, Star of ‘The Walking Dead’, Daniel Kaluuya, Star of ‘Get Out’, and veterans Forest Whitaker, and Angela Bassett.

Its been reported that Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, stated “90 percent of the cast is African or African American”
